Nepal to be declared ODF nation on Sept 30

Kathmandu / Sept 27: The government is planning to declare Nepal as Open Defecation Free nation on September 30.

Organizing a press meet in the capital on Friday, Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Bina Magar informed that the government has decided to mark the day as a national ceremony to announce the notable achievement in the social development sector.

Minister Magar further urged all the ministries, concerned stakeholders and people from all walks of life to make the campaign a huge success.

The government has initiated the ODF campaign since 2011. Kaski was the first to be declared as the ODF district.

According to the Ministry for Drinking Water and Sanitation, the campaign was gradually upgraded from school level to district and finally to the national level.
