House Committee invites PM Oli to hold discussion over Kalapani

Kathmandu / Nov 8: Parliamentary Committee on State Affairs and Good Governance will be holding a discussion with Prime Minister KP Sharma over Nepali territory Kalapani.

The territory has been placed inside Indian borders in a political map unveiled by the southern neighbor on November 2.

PM Oli has been invited to the committee meeting scheduled for coming Monday to discuss the Kalapani issue amid huge public outcry over the Indian encroachment upon Kalapani.

Similarly, the International Relations committee under the House of Representatives (HoR) has invited Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali coming Monday to hold a discussion on the same issue, according to Committee Secretary Suraj Kumar Dura.

The government of Nepal has already made clear its position that the Kalapani is Nepal’s territory based on historical pieces of evidence.
