Gautam Buddha Int’l Airport to be brought into operation within one year: Minister Bhattarai

Kathmandu / Nov 14: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation said on Thursday that the government is planning to bring Gautam Buddha International Airport into operation within one year.

Speaking at a program in the capital, the minister said that the government is accelerating the construction works of the ongoing airports keeping the Visit Nepal 2020 in mind.

“The government agencies are working to bring Pokhara Regional Airport into operation within two years,” he claimed.

Bhattarai also said that the government has expedited the renovation of the Tribhuvan International Airport.

Amid reports about the weak security at the TIA, Minister Bhattarai said that the government is serious towards improving the security at the country’s only international airport.
