FNCCI expresses commitment to participate in Social Security Scheme again

Kathmandu / Nov 14: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has expressed its commitment to actively participate in social security scheme based on contribution, brought into implementation at a consensus of government, employers and workers again.

During the meeting with Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, today, Gokarna Bista, FNCCI office-bearer, said that an awareness campaign would be launched in all seven states for participation in the scheme as the programme has been implemented on the basis of tripartite consensus.

Senior Vice-President of FNCCI, Shekhar Golchha also expressed his commitment that the FNCCI would provide maximum support to make the social security scheme announced by the incumbent government a success.

He further said that employers and organisations working for workers should hold an extensive discussion regarding the benefits to be gained from the scheme for the enthusiastic participation of workers.

Similarly, FNNCI Vice-Chair Chandra Dhakal said that there was no alternative to all the business houses participating in the scheme as the labour act and social security act have been formulated at a tripartite consensus.

He said that social security scheme has become a strong basis for a country’s prosperity after developing good labour relation.

Workers participated in the discussion said that although the scheme has been brought for the betterment of workers, they are in confusion in lack of clarity about the scheme. RSS
