Government is committed to ensuring prosperity: Minister Bhattarai

Ranjha / Nov 23: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Yogesh Bhattarai, said on Saturday that the government was committed to ensuring prosperity in the country.

Inaugurating the 5th edition of Nepalgunj Marathon here, Minister Bhattarai informed that the campaign of ‘Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali’ would be taken nationwide and internationalize the achievements made so far.

The Minister appreciated the role played by Nepalgunj Marathon for peace, harmony and unity and stressed that sports is imperative for good health.

On a different note, he said he arrived on Nepalgunj also to discuss and study how the Nepalgunj airport could be expanded and upgraded. It would be upgraded so that international air flight could be conducted, he added.

More than 2700 persons have participated in the fifth edition of the marathon. Chairman of Creative Hands, TS Thakuri, informed that it was organized in commemoration of the Comprehensive Peace Accord.

Those standing first in the marathon gets Rs 65,000 while second Rs 35,000 and the third Rs 25,000.
