Doti gets 46 quake-resistant school buildings

Doti / Dec 21: With the financial assistance of Japan’s Foreign Ministry and World Vision International Nepal, 46 earthquake-resistant school buildings have been constructed in Doti.

The construction project was implemented by the Community Development Centre (CDC). According to CDC project coordinator Prayagraj Kapadi, Durga Basic School Pakari, Saraswoti Basic School Lamikhal, Bhairav Basic School Lamikhal, Durga Basic School Dehimadau, Laxmi Basic School Kandi, Tameshwor Basic School Sirma, Kalika Basic School Kamthada, Mahakali Secondary School Alaitwada and Himalaya Basic School Dallek are among those schools getting new buildings.

Dipayal Silgadhi municipality mayor Manju Malasi, said the CDC is playing its role for the betterment of education in the district. Meanwhile, a new building meant for the Saraswoti Basic School based in Dipayal Silgadhi municipality-5 was handed amidst a programme here today.

The building with two rooms was constructed at the cost of Rs 6.6 million. The structure has earthquake-resistant features, said World Vision International Nepal’s community change Devendra Gurung. It has separate toilets for girls and boys and child-friendly drinking water taps.RSS
