Govt. extends lockdown by another week

Kathmandu / Apr. 6: The Government has decided to extend the lockdown period by another one week, till April 15.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held today took a decision to this effect.

The government has prohibited citizens from stepping out of their houses until April 15 with essential works being the exception.

With a view to combating COVID-19 a day after the second case was detected in Nepal, the government had announced weeklong lockdown on March 24 and this was again extended by a week on March 30, which was to end on April 7, tommorow.

The decision was taken in line with Infectious Disease Control Act 2020.
