South Korea to extend visa term of Nepali workers

Seoul / Apr. 14: The government of South Korea has decided to extend the visa term of Nepali workers employed here on the employment promotion system (EPS) by 50 days.

The Ministry of Labour of the South Korean government stated that the migrant workers from 15 countries, including Nepal, would be benefited from this decision.

As per the Ministry’s decision, the workers who arrived here under the EPS and whose visa term is expiring from today and who cannot go home due to the coronavirus pandemic will get visa term extension of 50 days.

Workers coming to Korea under EPS can stay and work here for a period of four years and 10 months. Nearly 18,500 migrant workers with E-9 visa have benefited from this decision.

Before this also the visa term of this category of workers was extended by 50 days in February. RSS
