Flights suspended till May 15, Decision on lockdown Extension tomorrow

Keshav Raj Poudel / Kathmandu, Apr. 25: The High Level Coordination Committee for prevention and control of COVID-19 has concluded that the preventive measures taken by the committee have been effective in controlling the virus spread.

The 21st meeting of the committee held on Saturday decided to propose the continuation of preventive measures in the meeting of the Council of Ministers to be held tomorrow.

Narayan Bidari, member of the committee and secretary of the office of the Prime Minister, said that the meeting also decided to propose suspension of all international flights until May 15.

He said that the modalities of lockdown implementation were also reviewed in the meeting.

“We are thankful towards all security workers, health workers and media personnel who have been actively striving to make the month-long lockdown successful,” said Bidari.

Bidari said that the proposal relating to lockdown extension would also be presented in the meeting of the Council of Ministers tomorrow.

“The decision as to lifting or extension of lockdown will be taken by the Cabinet tomorrow,” added Bidari.

The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Ishwar Pokharel.
