State 5 named as Lumbini, capital to be located in Bhalubang
Butwal / Oct. 6: State 5 has been named as Lumbini while decision has been made to keep its permanent capital at Bhalubang in Deukhuri valley of Dang district.
State Assembly of the State 5 held today endorsed the state government proposal to name the state as Lumbini and keep the capital in Bhalubang
The decision was taken with over two-third majority of the State Assembly.
The state government had presented a proposal in the State Assembly on Oct. 2 to name the state 5 as Lumbini and keep its capital in Bhalubang.
In the voting held at the State Assembly, the proposal to name the State as Lumbini State was endorsed with 78 votes while the proposal for locating the permanent capital was passed with 69 votes.
In the 87-member State Assembly of the State 5, a vote of 58 members can make a two-third majority.
Only four votes went against the proposal to name the State as Lumbini and five members remained absent.
Following the voting, Speaker of the State 5 Assembly, Purna Bahadur Gharti declared that capital of the state will be located at Bhalubang area of Dang district while the state has been named as Lumbini.
