MoHP reports 188 new cases of COVID-19

Kathmandu / Mar. 23: The Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday confirmed 188 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 276,244.

“In 4,032 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 188 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2,” informed the Ministry of Health and Population in the regular press briefing.

Currently, there are 1,128 active cases of COVID-19 and a total of 48 people, mostly those who had returned from abroad are placed in quarantine across the nation.

Meanwhile, 77 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 272,097 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.5 per cent.

No COVID-19 related fatalities were reported in Nepal in the last 24 hours. Currently, COVID-19 death toll is currently at 3,019.
