COVID-19 active cases reach 1,979 with 260 new Infections

Kathmandu / Apr. 6: The Ministry of Health and Population on Tuesday confirmed 260 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 278,470.

“In 4,243 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the last 24 hours, 260 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2,” informed the Health Ministry in the regular press briefing.

Currently, there are 1,979 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation and 69 people mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.

Meanwhile, 113 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 273,455 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98.2per cent.

No virus-related fatalities were confirmed across the nation in the last one day. Currently, the death toll is at 3,036.
