332 new cases of COVID-19 in last 24 Hours

Kathmandu / Apr. 8: The Ministry of Health and Population on Thursday confirmed 332 new cases of COVID-19, taking the nation’s novel coronavirus tally to 279,100.

“In 4,006 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests and 1,040 antigen tests done in the last 24 hours, 332 persons were found infected with SARS-CoV-2,” informed the Health Ministry in the regular press briefing.

Currently, there are 2,454 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation and 77 people mostly those who had returned from abroad, are placed in quarantine.

Meanwhile, 79 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. Nepal has now recorded 273,608 cases of recovery and the recovery rate is at 98 per cent.

No COVID-19 related fatalities were reported in the last 24 hours. Currently, the COVID-19 death toll is at 3,038.
