‘Govt preparing to provide free treatment for heart diseases’

Kathmandu / Sept. 29: Minister of State for Health and Population, Umesh Shrestha has said that the government is working to improve government hospitals to provide free treatment for chronic diseases such as heart diseases and cancer.

Speaking at a program organized in Lalitpur on Wednesday on the occasion of ‘World Heart Day’, he said that works are underway to treat chronic diseases like heart diseases and cancer free of cost.

He called on all citizens to avoid smoking and stay safe from pollution and exercise regularly to avoid heart diseases. Stating that heart diseases in Nepal have been on the rise, he also suggested to the government to make arrangements for easy access to treatment of heart diseases in Nepal.
