NBA serves a five-day ultimatum to CJ Rana to step down

Kathmandu / Sept 29: Nepal Bar Association (NBA)—the umbrella organization of lawyers across the country—has served a five-day ultimatum to Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana to tender resignation from the post.

A meeting of the NBA’s Working Committee held on Friday also announced to stage protests in a bid to exert pressure on Chief Justice Rana to step down from the post. NBA members with black armbands are scheduled to stage protests in the Supreme Court premise from 10 am to 11 am from Sunday to Wednesday, according to the protest programs unveiled by the NBA.

The NBA also announced to hold a protest rally in its office premises in Ramshah Path on Tuesday. The NBA has announced to unveil a fresh protest program if Chief Rana chose not to step down within the given deadline.
