KMC Mayor Shakya inaugurates pedestrian bridge in Maitighar

Kathmandu / Mar. 16: Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya has inaugurated a newly-constructed pedestrian bridge at Maitighar on Wednesday. The construction of the bridge was completed over a year ago but it was inaugurated today by Kathmandu’s Mayor Shakya.

On the occasion, Mayor Shakya shared that the metropolis has been allocating about Rs 80 to Rs 90 million every year to building pedestrian bridges. He said that the construction of such bridges has helped to decrease road obstructions and accidents.

He also asserted that there have been problems in building pedestrian bridges at certain places of the city where the sidewalks are small.
