Two-day holiday in schools: winter, summer, festival holidays to be reduced

Kathmandu / May 11: The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has decided to slash the winter, summer and festival leaves.

Dipak Sharma, spokesperson of the Ministry, informed that the decision was taken to ensure that class days in schools and universities do not get reduced in view of the government’s decision to grant two-day, Saturday and Sunday, public holidays a week.

A meeting of the Ministry held on Wednesday also decided to ensure that class hours are not affected when the two-day holiday is implemented.

The two-day weekly holiday is being implemented from the start of the month of Jetha, May 15.

He said class hours in schools will be from 10 am to 4 pm and that there will be a full-day class on Friday as well.
