Mayor Balen Shah decides to broadcast all municipal meetings of KMC live

Kathmandu / May 30: The newly-elected Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Balen Shah has decided to broadcast all municipal meetings live.

Shah, who assumed his office after taking the oath of office and secrecy earlier today, made the decision in accordance with the commitment he had made earlier. The first meeting of the municipal executives has been called for today at 4PM.

Mayor Shah has also mentioned that he will not celebrate his victory by wearing garlands until there is effective management of garbage in Kathmandu. Stating that the waste management of KMC is his priority, he said, “People of Sisdole have become victims of our sin. These people are suffering from cancer and skin diseases due to poor management of garbage. Many people are dying there. This is not the time for celebration, but time to mourn the losses they have incurred. ”

The newly-elected mayor, deputy mayor, ward chairpersons and members of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) assumed their offices amidst a special function held today.
