Swiss envoy pays courtesy call on CM Shahi

Kathmandu / July 5: Swiss Ambassador to Nepal, Elisabeth vonCapeller, paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister (CM) of Karnali Province Jeevan Bahadur Shahi.

During the meeting held on Tuesday, they discussed topics like implementation of federalism, impact on mental health on victims of armed conflict, and Karnali road master plan, among others.

With the support of the Government of Switzerland, the Center for Mental Health and Counseling (CMC) Nepal is conducting mental health counseling programs in six municipalities in three districts of Karnali. Ambassador vonCappeller was concerned about the work being done by the Karnali province government regarding the conflict victims.

She suggested the provincial government be serious about the mental health issues of the armed conflict.

“The Karnali province government is serious about the issue of conflict victims,” ​​said CM Shahi. “We are working on relief, subsistence allowance, medical treatment, mental health treatment and counseling” he added
