Forests Minister Yadav pledges to resolve problems faced by Madi people due to national park

Chitwan / July 23: Minister for Forests and Environment Pradeep Yadav has said that the ministry would take necessary initiatives to resolve the problems faced by the Madi folks due to the national park.

After inspecting the halted works of Hulaki Road construction, the underground electrification and construction of bridges and other structures. Minister Yadav also said that all those works currently halted would soon move ahead.

Bharatpur Metropolitan City mayor Renu Dahal, who accompanied the Minister in the course of the inspection, said that Minister Yadav instructed the bodies concerned to immediately start works. Secretary at the Ministry of Forest and Environment Dr Pem Narayan Kandel and Director General of Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation Dr Ram Chandra Kandel were among the officials present on the occasion.

Minister Yadav said that there will not be any problem to carry out additional works in Madi where the electricity cables are being extended. He also instructed the bodies concerned to move ahead the necessary process in case new locations have to be used for cable extension and present all the problems in a package before him for their resolution.

A team comprising political party representatives of the district and the chiefs of the local bodies under the leadership of CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal called on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba a few days ago and apprised him of the problems caused by the Chitwan National Park to the locals. Prime Minister Deuba had assured during the meeting with the delegation that the problems would be addressed soon.
