New Currency Notes for Dashain from Sept. 18

Ajay Chhetri / Kathmandu, Sept. 5: People can exchange new and clean currency notes for Dashain and Tihar festivals from September 18.

Executive director of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Revati Prasad Nepal informed that the public can get currency denominations of Rs 5, Rs 10 Rs 20, Rs 50, and Rs 100.

According to him, NRB will provide new notes to banks from September 11 and the public can get the exchange facility from September 18.

He further added that each person can exchange new notes maximum of Rs 18,500 from banks and financial institutions. One can also get a new note from the NRB from September 11.

He said all the banks and financial institutions will publish notifications with regard to the exchange facility of the new notes on their website whereby the general public will get complete information about the branches and their distribution facilities.
