SC issues interim order not to take action against ‘No, Not Again’ campaigners

Kathmandu / Nov 6: The Supreme Court (SC) on Sunday issued an interim order against the Election Commission (EC) to not take forward its action against the persons involved in ‘No Not Again’ campaign.

A single bench of the SC Justice Hari Prasad Phuyal also issued a show cause notice against the EC’s decision to prohibit the campaign. The apex court also asked both the petitioner and defendants for discussion.

Two weeks ago, the EC asked the concerned members of the campaign, which is directed against a section of top political leaders in social media platforms, to stop defaming the candidates of the November 20 elections through such activities. The EC even formed a Task Force to start the search operation to find out those responsible for the controversial campaign.
