Security officials urged to take approval for diplomatic meetings

Kathmandu / Dec 29: The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the officials of the security bodies to take departmental permission while meeting the heads of diplomatic missions, and various political party offices or their leadership.

The Ministry, through a note today, issued a directive to the organization chief concerned to make arrangements for the same and conduct and have conducted such meetings only after taking the departmental approval as well as to ensure its effective implementation and monitoring.

The Ministry stated that it was issuing the directive as it has got information that several security body officials were engaging in various such meetings except in connection to carrying out their duty and responsibility.

Disciplinary action would be taken as per the prevailing law if any official is found carrying out or making others carry out acts flouting this directive, the Ministry said. RSS
