PM Prachanda terms reward and punishment as state affairs, governance

Kathmandu / March 4 : Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that the true practice of reward and punishment was in itself the state affair and governance.

Receiving the report of the High-Level Commission on Salary and Benefits at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar today, PM Prachanda said that basis for good-governance and prosperity could be prepared only from the best practice of reward and punishment. “This should be implemented in our bureaucracy as well,” according to the PM.

The government had formed the High-Level Commission in last August under the coordination of former Chief Secretary Leelamani Paudyal for reviewing the salary and facilities of the government officials and furnish recommendations on the basis of the country’s economic condition and its spending capacity.

On the occasion, Prime Minister said that the report of the High-Level Commission shall be helpful in charting out upcoming policies of the government. (RSS)
