Nepal exports cement worth approx. Rs 170 million in seven months

Kathmandu / March 10 : Nepal has exported cement worth around Rs 170 million in the last seven months of the current fiscal year.

Nepal exported cement and clinker equivalent to Rs 167 million 33 thousand in the last seven months, it is stated in the statistics made public by the Department of Customs. In the seven months’ period, clinker worth Rs 106 million 377 thousand and cement worth Rs 60 million 656 thousand was exported.

The Department said 151 thousand 158 tonnes clinker and 153 thousand 493 tonnes cement has been exported during the periodTwo Nepali cement industries have been exporting Nepali brand cement to India with the government’s announcement in the current fiscal year’s budget of exception in export. Palpa Cement has been exporting the ‘Tansen’ brand cement since July 8, 2022 and the ‘Arghakhanchi’ brand cement since October 17, 2022. The Nepali cement is exported to various markets in India.

Manager of Arghakhanchi Cement Industry Rajesh Agrawal said that although the export has declined during big festivals, now it has started to peak.(RSS)
