Nepal beats PNG by 9 wickets

Kathmandu / March 13: Nepal has won the ICC World Cup League-2 triangular ODI series cricket match against Papua New Guinea (PNG) by nine wickets.

Nepal achieved the winning target of 96 runs by losing just one wicket in 7.44 overs.

Kusal Bhurtel got out after scoring 33 runs for Nepal.

Ashif Sheikh of Nepal scored 53 runs not out with 8 fours and 3 sixes in 21 balls.

Likewise, Kusal Malla contributed 12 runs not out. Earlier, Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane took 5 wickets, and Kusal Malla and Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi took two wickets each.

Similarly, Sompal Kami took one wicket. With this victory, Nepal has scored 38 points from 35 games. Nepal is one point behind Oman, which is in third place. After winning against the UAE in the last match, Nepal has reached third position and has 40 points left to score to go to the World Cup qualifiers.
