University education should be focused on research and innovation: PM Prachanda

Kathmandu / June 11: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal said that university education should be focused on research and innovation.

Speaking at the 28th Convocation Ceremony of the Kathmandu University (2nd phase) on Sunday at Dhulikhel of Kavrepalanchowk Prime Minister said that in the curriculum of the Masters level research and innovation should be emphasized, and in the Bachelor level practical and learning-based education should be focused.

At the convocation programme, Prime Minister Prachanda said, “All running universities and high education institutions should change the style of teaching and research. Especially, in universities, Masters’s level curriculum should be focused on research and innovation. The bachelor level should emphasize more practical and learning-based education.”
