Anti-corruption campaign will continue: DPM Shrestha

Chitwan / Sept 6: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha today said the anti-corruption campaign would continue and there would not be any compromise on it.

“This is the commitment of the government not only mine. We will halt the campaign,” he said while addressing the 13th anniversary of the community radio, Madi. The campaign has support of all intellectuals and civil society, he claimed.

“This government is against corruption, smuggling, black marketing, impunity and cheating. We will continue it.”

He also pledged to book those involved in the public land and fake Bhutanese refugee scams and gold smuggling. The government is at work to carry out social and economic transformation through the medium and means of political changes achieved so far. He also lauded the communication medium for its role in advancing revolutionary movements and establishing democracy in Nepal. He praised the community radio, Madi for its role in developing the Madi area.

On the occasion, Madi Municipality mayor Tara Kumari Kaji Mahato, Nepali Congress Chitwan President Shovakhar Chapagain, and CPN (Maoist Centre) central member Sandesh Paudel gave their best wishes to the radio. They also apprised DPM Shrestha of problems facing the Madi area. RSS
