Former Minister Acharya insists on flexible policies to attract foreign investment

Chitwan / Oct 30: Former Finance Minister Mahesh Acharya has said a comprehensive campaign is needed to improve nation’s economy.

Taking to media here today, the former Minister said such campaign should be capable to restore the confidence of business community and develop Nepal as a destination for investment. He advised the government to come up with flexible polices to attract investment from home and outside the country.

“It is essential to promote investment atmosphere in the country and escalate the scope and increase opportunities for income-generation within the community. This will make economy vibrant,” he said.

Country’s export rate is getting shrunken while it simultaneously experiences a rising dependence on imports. Lack of revenue mobilization as per the expectations has led to a precarious expenditure structure, suggesting a prompt intervention, according to Acharya. RSS
