Kathmandu / Jan 18: The Parliamentary Committee on Education, Health, and Information Technology (MoICIT) under the House of Representatives has directed the government to submit all documents related to the Mobile Device Management System (MDMS) and Telecommunication Traffic Monitoring and Fraud Control System (TERAMOCS).

During a meeting on Thursday, the parliamentary committee instructed the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to provide all documents concerning policy decisions, the purchase process, payments, and the rationale for implementing MDMS and TERAMOCS from the beginning.

Additionally, the committee decided to request a ministerial-level investigation report on these issues, as well as information on court decisions related to the same, and to make further decisions based on consultations with experts.

This decision follows discussions held with Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, and Ministry Secretary Ram Krishna Subedi, along with other officials of the Ministry during the meeting.

Minister Sharma shared that the Ministry is currently reviewing policy decisions made by previous governments and the activities conducted by the implementing bodies. She expressed the Ministry’s willingness to cooperate with any investigations conducted by authorized agencies into any reported irregularities in the implementation of these systems. RSS
