Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane acquitted; CAN lifts suspension on Lamicchane

Kathmandu / May 15: Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has been acquitted by the Patan High Court.

After final hearing on Wednesday Patan High Court has given clean chit to Lamichhane.

Earlier, the Kathmandu district court had found cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane guilty of rape case. Challenging the decision of the district court Lamichhane was went the High Court.

With the high court verdict Lamichhane’s door to T20 World Cup has been opened.

CAN lifts suspension on Sandeep Lamicchane

With the acquittal of cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane in the rape case, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has lifted the suspension imposed on him.

CAN announced through its official Facebook page on Wednesday that the suspension of Sandeep Lamichhane from all domestic and international cricket activities has been lifted.

“According to the decision of the honorable Patan High Court dated May 15, 2024, we inform you that the suspension of Sandeep Lamichhane from all domestic and international cricket activities has been lifted as the verdict has cleared Nepali National Cricket Team player Sandeep of the rape charges,” the statement issued by CAN reads.
