Minister Aryal expresses commitment to end ills in labour sector

Kathmandu / June 16: Minister for Labour, Employment and Social Security, Dol Prasad Aryal, has said he was devoted to ending anomalies in labour sector, promoting social security and curbing corruption. Minister Aryal said it while sharing the activities he carried out during the last 100 days.

He informed that he recently represented in the governing body of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The government is planning to develop the Bhaisepati-based National Vocational Training Institute as a centre for excellence and encourage the trained ones to engage in the jobs within country. The decisions and work procedures made earlier to create burdens on the workers would be scrapped and postponed after conducting proper studies, he added.

The Minister said the ministry was advocating for a guarantee of at least 500 US dollars per month to a Nepali worker abroad. The frauds in foreign employment are being curbed.

Every province had an employment fair which aimed at creating jobs for youths at home so that the trend of exodus could end. Collaborative efforts among the three layers of government was underlined to create productive jobs, he stressed. RSS
