1.6 million income in a year from Dragon fruit

Tanahun / July 20: Kalpana Gauli of Byas Municipality-5, Dhodeni earned Rs 1.6 million last year by selling dragon fruit.

She planted 2100 saplings in 9 ropanis farmland.

Kalpana registered Ma Ambe Alaukik Krishi Farm in 2079 BS and started the farm planting ‘C’ variety dragon saplings.

The land has been rented under an agreement for 20 years for a payment of Rs 20,000 per month.

The sales this year are expecting Rs 20 lakh whereas last year’s sales recorded Rs 16 lakh.

She informed that the buyer comes to the farm to purchase the fruits and remaining supplies for Damauli and vegetable traders so no worries about its supply.

The fruit sales are at Rs 500 to 700 per kg. RSS
