Govt working to increase SEE pass result to 70%: PM Oli

Kathmandu / Aug 30: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the government has initiated process to run special online classes for school students so that the pass percentage reaches at least 70 in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).

Addressing the 29th Convocation ceremony of Kathmandu University in Dhulikhel today, Prime Minister Oli, also chancellor of the KU, shared that concerned authorities have been directed to run online classes on behalf of the federal government on major subjects such as English, Maths and Sciences for increase the rate of pass percentage in the SEE.

“It is injustice on the students that only around 50% of SEE examinees pass it. To end such a plight, I have directed Education Ministry, Nepal telecom and other agencies to make necessary arrangement for online classes,” said the PM.

Meanwhile, RSS adds that, the PM also clarified that the government will proceed more clearly and firmly in the coming days for the prosperity of the country and the strengthening of overall education system.

Prime Minister Oli urged the students enrolled in various departments in the university to make proper use of the knowledge and skills they have acquired and become worthy citizens for the society.

Prime Minister Oli presented the Chancellor’s Gold Medal to Mijala Chitrakar, who obtained four CGPA at the postgraduate level in the School of Arts, and the Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal to Mukesh Tiwari, who obtained four CGPs at the graduate level from the School of Sciences.

Two thousand three hundred and fourteen students including foreign students were graduated in the ceremony.
