CIB raids illegal call center in Lalitpur, arrests 50 including three Chinese nationals

Kathmandu / Sept 12: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) raided an illegally operated call center in a remote area of Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC), detaining 50 individuals including three Chinese nationals.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Hobindra Bogati of CIB confirmed the raid, which took place on Thursday after authorities received reports of the call center’s unlawful activities.

“Acting on a tip-off about the illegal operation, we detained 50 people including three Chinese nationals,” said SP Bogati, adding that investigations are underway to determine the extent of involvement of those arrested.
