Decision made to provide Rs. 2 lakh to family of organ donor


Kathmandu / Nov 24: Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel has made a decision to provide Rs. 2 lakh to the family of the person who wants to donate organs after death.

Earlier, the family would be given a sum of Rs. 1 lakh from the Shahid Dharmabhakta National Transplant Center in Bhaktapur.

Finance Ministry has consented to the decision of Minister Paudel by stating that the increased amount will have to be managed by the internal sources of the Health Ministry.

Similarly, Minister Paudel has also increased the amount of help to the hospital that assists in organ donation to Rs. 75 thousand from Rs. 50 thousand.

“We want to encourage those who want to save others life after their death,” said Minister Paudel, “We hope this decision will make a widespread impact to save others life after one’s death.”
