Govt prepares a draft of Artificial Intelligence policy


Kathmandu / Jan 24: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MoCIT) has drafted a policy on artificial intelligence (AI), aiming to facilitate the formulation and implementation of laws and regulations in this rapidly evolving field.

According to MoCIT, the draft has reached its final stage and will be made public on the ministry’s website today or tomorrow to gather feedback from the general public. The policy has been developed in coordination with stakeholders and focuses on fostering human resources and infrastructure in information technology.

AI’s global advancements have prompted many countries to establish regulations, and Nepal’s policy seeks to align with this trend by addressing the opportunities and challenges posed by AI.
