Nepal Police Club clinches PM Cup cricket title


Kathmandu / Mar 29: Nepal Police Club won the PM Cup title defeating Tribhuwan Army Club by 6 wickets on Saturday at the final match at Siddhartha Cricket Stadium, Bhairahawa. Nepal Police Club achieved the target of 155 runs scoring 157 runs given by Tribhuwan Army Club with a loss of 4 wickets in 25.2 overs.

Earlier, Tribhuwan Army posted a total of 154 runs before being all out in 43 overs. To stop Army in a small total Police’s Karan KC and Sagar Dhakal took 3 wickets each.

Dipendra Singh Airee took two wickets and Lalit Rajbanshi and Gulsan Jha took a single wicket each. Army’s Basir Ahamad scored 86 runs, Binod Bhandari 29 and Bibek Yadav scored 11 runs whereas other batsmen couldn’t hit runs in double digits.

In response, to achieve the target, Nepal Police’s Kushal Bhurtel hit 61 runs, Amit Shrestha 39 and Dilip Nath scored 31 runs. Army’s Shahab Alam took 3 wickets alone and Naren Saud took a single wicket.
