President Paudel Issues Public Procurement and Cooperative related Ordinance

Kathmandu / April 30: President Ramchandra Paudel has promulgated an ordinance related to public procurement.
According to Ritesh Kumar Shakya, spokesperson for the Office of the President, the ordinance titled Public Procurement (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2083 was issued on the recommendation of the government.
The President’s Office stated that the ordinance was promulgated in accordance with Article 114(1) of the Constitution of Nepal.
Earlier the same day, President Paudel also issued an ordinance related to cooperatives.
The government had recommended several other ordinances for presidential approval, including those concerning the Constitutional Council, amendments to certain Nepal Acts, health science academies, universities, and the removal of public officials from office.
The President is currently reviewing these additional ordinances.
On Thursday, President Paudel also held discussions with several legal experts at Shital Niwas regarding the ordinances.
