UML grants party membership to former President Bidya Devi Bhandari

Kathmandu / May 18: The CPN-UML has decided to grant party membership to former President Bidya Devi Bhandari, marking a notable political development within the party.
The decision was taken during a Secretariat meeting held at the residence of party chair KP Sharma Oli in Gundu, according to party leaders.
Officials said the meeting decided to provide membership to Bhandari, while other agenda items were discussed but no final decisions were made.
The party had previously not renewed Bhandari’s membership after her presidential tenure, citing internal party decisions linked to her potential political activities within the organization.
Officials said another meeting has been scheduled for May 22 to continue discussions on remaining issues.
