Govt endorses Montreal Protocol, appoints officials at land Committee

Kathmandu / June 2: The government has decided to ratify the Montreal Protocol related to management and minimization of substance affecting the ozone layer under the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Tuesday at the Singh Durbar made the decision to this effect.
Government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel said that the government decided to proceed ahead the protocol as it was related with environment protection and security of the ozone layer.
Similarly, the Cabinet promoted Anjani Kumar Pokhrel to Additional Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Nepal.
The Cabinet extended the tenure by 45 days of the Committee to study report of the probe commission on incidents of Gen Z movement held on September 8 and 9.
Likewise, the Cabinet meeting has appointed officials in the vacant posts of the Land Problem Settlement Committee.
Balbhadra Bastola of Kaski has been appointed the Chair of the Commission while Amir Prasad Neupane, Padmaniti Soti and Dr. Rana Shrestha have been appointed as the members.
