Link education to innovation, digital technology: Vice President Yadav

Kathmandu / June 28: Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav has underlined the need for linking education to research, innovation and digital technology.
In his address to a programme organized here on the silver jubilee of the Madan Bhandari Memorial College, Vice President Yadav reminded the artificial intelligence and modern technology should be launched in education from school to university.
Education sector lacks innovation, so introducing digital education is imperative, he said, adding that discipline, research and innovation are other integral parts of schooling.
The Vice President viewed, “Education inculcates a sense of humility, discipline and social responsibility to learners. It also serves as a basis of harmony for the country like ours where we have multi-ethnic communities. It is a pillar of nation building, requiring timely reforms.”
Also underscored by Vice President Yadav was providing education in a way to create jobs to youths and foster self-employment. “Teachers are the campaigners of nation building. Universities should be developed as research centres,” he reminded.
Chairman of College Management Committee, Mahendra Bahadur Pandey, informed that the Madan Bhandari Memorial College had continued its campaign to ensure quality education in an affordable manner. He expressed commitment to excelling academic performance in the college.
Former Vice-Chancellor of the Tribhuvan University, Dipak Aryal, observed that the Madan Bhandari Memorial College was among the top ten best educational institutions out of nearly 450 community campuses affiliated to the Tribhuvan University.
