Cabinet Approves 10 Decisions, Including Regulations, Policies, and Key Appointments

Kathmandu / July 2: The Cabinet meeting held on Thursday approved 10 major decisions, including policy approvals, appointments to key positions, and transfers of senior government officials.
According to government spokesperson and Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel, the Cabinet decided to appoint Hikmat Bahadur Rawal of Kailali as the General Manager of the Gorkhapatra Corporation, based on a proposal from the Ministry of Information and Communications.
On the recommendation of the Ministry of Finance, the Cabinet approved the submission to the Federal Parliament of a bill to amend and repeal certain Nepal laws relating to financial matters.
Acting on a proposal from the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, the Cabinet also approved the submission to the Federal Parliament of the agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) concerning the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity in areas beyond national jurisdiction for ratification.
Based on a proposal from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the government decided to transfer eight Additional Inspectors General (AIGs) serving in the Nepal Police.
The Cabinet also appointed Dharmaraj Khadka of Dhankuta as the Executive Director of the Development Committee for the Operation and Management of Special Structures, following a proposal from the Ministry of Infrastructure Development.
Similarly, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the government appointed Devaraj Dhungana of Morang as the Executive Director of the Security Printing Centre.
The Cabinet also endorsed several regulations and national policies aimed at strengthening social and administrative reforms.
On the proposal of the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, Federal Affairs and General Administration, the Cabinet approved the Kamaiya Labour (Prohibition) (First Amendment) Regulations, 2083 (2026).
Likewise, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Education and Sports, the government approved the Education (Tenth Amendment) Regulations, 2083 (2026), the National Integrity Policy, 2083 (2026), and the National Advertising Policy, 2083 (2026).
