Govt appoints Govinda Bahadur Karki as chief secretary; Suraj Shakya as KVDA commissioner, approves three regulations

Kathmandu / July 8: The government has appointed Govinda Bahadur Karki as the new chief secretary.
A Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday decided to appoint Karki, who had been serving as secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, to the top-most bureaucratic post, said government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel.
“The Cabinet has decided to appoint Govinda Bahadur Karki, secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, as the chief secretary of the Government of Nepal,” Pokharel said.
The Cabinet also approved the Educational Consultancy, Language Training and Preparatory Classes (Operation and Management) Regulations, 2083 BS, according to Minister Pokharel.

The government has appointed Suraj Shakya as the commissioner of the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority. A Cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Wednesday also approved three new regulations.
Government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel said the Cabinet also approved the operation of Geta Hospital as the teaching hospital of Shahid Dasharath Chand Health Sciences University.
The meeting endorsed the Foreign Academic Program (Operation and Regulation) Regulations, and the Prison Regulations.
The Cabinet also approved the Sixth National Human Rights Action Plan and the Second National Strategic Plan Against Corruption, according to the government spokesperson.
