Talks Between Dr. Govinda KC and Government Team Scheduled for Sunday

Kathmandu / July 25: A formal round of talks between hunger-striking Dr. Govinda KC and a government negotiation team is scheduled to take place on Sunday.
On Saturday, Ministry of Education and Sports Secretary Chudamani Paudel arrived in Dhangadhi to initiate discussions with Dr. KC following instructions from Minister for Education and Sports Sasmita Pokharel. However, the negotiations were postponed until Sunday as other members of the government team had yet to arrive.
Minister Pokharel had held a telephone conversation with Dr. KC on Friday evening. Following the discussion, Secretary Paudel was dispatched to Dhangadhi with the aim of finding a resolution to the hunger strike through dialogue.
Dr. KC began his 24th hunger strike at Krishna Temple in Dhangadhi, demanding reforms in medical education and the health sector.
As his health condition deteriorated, he was taken to Seti Provincial Hospital in Dhangadhi for medical care.
Dr. KC has launched the hunger strike to press the government to address his demands related to reforms in medical education, improved access to healthcare services, and other issues concerning the health sector.
