Health Ministry urges not to obstruct services at hospitals

Kathmandu / July 28 : The Ministry of Health and Food Safety has urged one and all not to obstruct health services, which are essential for round-the-clock.

Joint Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, reminded everyone concerned not to obstruct the services at hospitals. Adhikari’s appeal came in response to the announcement of medical and health persons to halt services except emergency.

“Health service is essential and sensitive. So, the doctors must realize its significance, prestige and social responsibility,” Dr Adhikari mentioned in the press statement issued today. He appealed to all hospitals to ensure services without any hindrances and inconvenience to the patients.

According to him, it is the rights of every medical person to provide sensitive and life-saving service to the people, while medical persons also have the right to work at safe and respectable atmosphere. The Ministry also reminded the responsibility of every citizen to cooperate in creating safe atmosphere at hospitals.

The Ministry expressed serious concern over the attack and misbehaviour meted out against hospital, health workers and health institutes. Those involved in such incident would be taken stringent action, Adhikari warned.

The Nepal Medical Association had announced closure of health services except emergency reasoning the attack on doctors and health workers at Narayani Hospital of Birgunj on Saturday. RSS
