RSP for leadership, ministers, representatives to get connected to people, national policies

Kathmandu / Aug 9: The ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has determined a programme requiring ministers on behalf of the party to compulsory attend the party’s Central Party Office at least once in a month and connect to the direct dialogues with the civic and party line.

The party will be launching the ‘Civic, Policy and Leadership’ from mid-August. The programme aims to foster a people-centric, transparent and result-oriented political culture, while ensuring that elected political leadership remains accountable to, and in regular contact with citizens as per the spirit of democracy.

Issuing a press note today, RSP joint general secretary Ashim Shah said the party would be launching the programme which is expected to serve as a tool taking the civic voices to the state’s policy-making and implementation level.

The first-phase of the programme would be held for an hour in the evening, which remains open to citizens. In the programme, the present leadership engages with citizens, hearing their grievances, expectations and receiving submissions.

Under the second round of the programme , a joint meeting of the ministers, party’s central committee and House of Representatives (HoR) members would determine collective strategies upon being based on submissions received from citizens in the first phase of the programme.

Similarly, through the programme, the party aims to make ministers directly accountable to the public, present their views on the national policy and legislative deliveries being based on real issues of the citizens. The party has also set a goal of ensuring effective exchange of information and action plans between the party’s organizational level, parliamentary parties and representatives in the government.RSS
