Monitoring intensified to curb black marketing of cooking gas

Kathmandu / Aug 9: The monitoring of cooking gas has been intensified in view of the black marketing reported by the consumers.

The Home Ministry and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies have collaborated to speed up the market monitoring.

Although there is no problem in import of the cooking gas from India, a sudden shortage was created, thereby panicking consumers. As the complaints of black marketing were received regularly, strict inspection in market was forwarded.

Joint secretary at the Ministry Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Netra Prasad Subedi, however, informed that supply of LP gas was being eased with effective market monitoring.

Earlier, Minister for Industry, Gauri Kumari Yadav, had urged Home Minister Sudhan Gurung to mobilize security persons at gas depots in the Kathmandu Valley during monitoring so that the trend of selling essential fuel at exorbitant prices would be deterred.

The Home Minister’s private secretariat has said Minister Gurung had directed the police administration for necessary coordination and facilitation following Industry Minister’s request. RSS
