PANAS Team Presents Flood Relief Funds to Nepal Government for Flood Relief and Recovery

London / Sept. 15: Sujan Katuwal MBE, founder of PANAS Gurkha Restaurant and Panas Helping Hands in Blackheath, has extended humanitarian support to Nepal following the devastating floods in the country.

Katuwal and the PANAS team launched a Nepal Flood Emergency Appeal, mobilising support from customers and the wider community. The fundraising campaign was accompanied by a candlelight vigil at PANAS Restaurant in Blackheath, attended by Dame Joanna Lumley, civic representatives and members of the Nepalese, Gurkha and local communities.

Following the fundraising campaign, Katuwal travelled to Nepal and formally presented the funds raised by PANAS and its supporters to Finance Minister Hon. Dr Swarnim Wagle to support Nepal’s flood relief and recovery efforts.

Katuwal is also visiting flood-affected areas to meet affected communities, understand their immediate needs and explore opportunities for meaningful long-term support for recovery and rebuilding.

“Compassion must be accompanied by action. I want to be present, listen to the affected communities and understand how we can help them recover and rebuild,” Katuwal said.

Katuwal expressed gratitude to PANAS customers, donors, friends and the Blackheath community, as well as all those who supported the emergency appeal and efforts to assist flood-affected communities in Nepal.
