Global experts to convene in Nepal for conference on ‘Digital-Age Crimes’


Kathmandu / Feb 25: The Office of the Attorney General is set to host the International Conference on Crimes of the Digital Age: Anticipation and Response on February 27.

At a press briefing on Tuesday, Attorney General Ramesh Badal announced that the two-day event will bring together experts to examine the growing convergence of AI, digital economic crime, and cyber-enabled offenses.

The conference will spotlight innovative strategies for investigating, prosecuting, and preventing technology-driven crimes.

Discussions will center on emerging challenges posed by advanced technologies, including technology-facilitated sexual violence and abuse (TFSVA), cybersecurity crimes, cryptocurrency-related offenses, and AI-enabled criminal activities.

More than 90 government attorneys, legal experts, judges, and representatives from legal fraternities across 13 nations-including Nepal, the UK, the Netherlands, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the Maldives, South Korea, Azerbaijan, India, China, Sri Lanka, Norway, and Russia-will participate.From Nepal, representatives from the Supreme Court, Nepal Rastra Bank, various ministries, and other institutions will join the event, where 16 working papers will be presented across multiple sessions.
